Girls’ Generation Is Nominated For The 26th Golden Disk Awards
The Golden Disk Awards (better known as the Korean equivalent of the Grammys) will soon be
entering its 26th year, and organizers have just announced its list of nominees.

Separated into ‘Digital’ and ‘Album’ awards, the Golden Disk is known for selecting winners based on sales figures over the year. For this year’s nominees, the committee considered albums released from January 1st, 2011 to November 30th, 2011.

The 26th Golden Disk Awards will be held in Osaka, Japan on January 11th and 12, 2012 at the Kyocera Dome.

Girls’ Generation Wins Mnet M!Countdown Triple Crown

On November 10th, Girls’ Generation won on Mnet’s M!Countdown, securing their third victory on the music show.

Girls’ Generation beat out Lee Seunggi and No Eul to win this week, giving them the triple crown with three wins in a row.

Last week, Mnet’s Style Icon Awards Show was aired instead of M!Countdown, so the results of last week’s chart were revealed on tonight’s show. While Sooyoung was MC’ing, she was informed that Girls’ Generation won last week’s chart as well, and was presented with flowers and the trophy. Sooyoung will continue to be MC on next week’s M!Countdown as well.

”The Boys” reaches 84,000 sales on the Hanteo Chart!

Girls’ Generation’s third studio album, “The Boys”, has been flying off the shelves. In the first two weeks since its release, the album has soared past the 75,000 units sold mark on the Hanteo chart.
As of the time of this article, “The Boys” has over 84,000 albums sold on the chart. Along with the Gaon chart, Hanteo is one of the main music charts in Korea that tracks album sales.
The title track from the album continues to be a huge hit on Youtube as well. The Korean version of “The Boys” just recently passed 15 million views, proving itself to be one of the most popular music videos.

SNSD’s Jessica reveals her rock-hard abs

A photo of SNSD members Seohyun, Jessica, Hyoyeon, and Sunny was recently posted on Mnet’s official Twitter.

In the revealed photo, the four girls who are currently promoting their new song “The Boys” with the rest of SNSD are posing with the classic ‘V’ pose. Seohyun on the left showcased a long and wavy feminine hairstyle while Sunny on the right looked chic and trendy in her new blonde short cut.

SM artists likely to be in attendance at ’2011 MAMA’ for the first time in years

Mnet‘s annual award show Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) held a press conference earlier today at the Seoul Sangamdong CGV Theater. Parent company CJ E&M‘s lead director stated at the conference, “Relations between Mnet and SM Entertainment were recently mended and SM artists have returned making appearances on many Mnet programs.”
